Two buildings. Three completely different worlds. It's the best thing about shooting with DTLA Visuals, and the first question every new client asks: which room?
Here's the honest, unfussy version of the advice we give on the phone.
Start with people, not aesthetics
Headcount narrows the field fast. Full production with clients on set? PARISIAN CHIC MODERN holds 45, our largest. Crew of six shooting product, a couples session, or tight editorial? MINIMALIST WARMTH's 2,000 intimate square feet will move faster than any big room. Everything in between lands at JAPANDI STUDIO, which holds 40.
Then match the light to the schedule
Afternoon and evening belong to JAPANDI STUDIO, seven west-facing windows and a forty-minute golden hour worth building a call sheet around. An unpredictable schedule favors PARISIAN CHIC MODERN, tall windows and soft diffused daylight all day rather than one hour to catch. MINIMALIST WARMTH runs warm and controlled, better suited to shorter, quieter sessions than a specific hour. If your schedule can't bend, pick the room whose light shows up when you do.
Aesthetic is the tiebreaker
Calm and sculptural: Japandi. Romantic with scale: Parisian. Warm and intimate: Minimalist Warmth. When two rooms both work, book the one whose worst corner still matches your brand.
Still torn? That's literally our curation service. Send the moodboard, we'll pick with you.
